Jaslene Crowned "America's Next Top Model"

Los Angeles, CA (AHN) - The eighth season of "America's Next Top Model" came to an end on Wednesday night. Going head-to-head in the last round were Jaslene and Natasha, but Jaslene was crowned the ultimate winner.

Landing in third place was young mother Renee, who the judges felt didn't have the right look. Runner-up Natasha, originally from Russia, had tried out for the show in hopes of making it big in the States.

Tyra Banks, former Victoria's Secret model and creator of the show, said it was a tough decision to make since both ladies had big "hearts and souls."

It seems like the second - not third - time is the charm for Jaslene, who entered this cycle's modeling competition for a second go-around. In a previous season, the 20-year-old had tried out to become a "Top Model" and didn't make it. But now that she has been named the latest winner, Jaslene can expect a grand prize full of cash and goodies to add to her name.

As "America's Next Top Model," the Latina star has earned a $100,000 contract with CoverGirl make-up and will have an upcoming six-page spread inside Seventeen magazine.

After being announced the winner, she said, "To be here, I've overcome so much - I didn't make it the first time, but now look at me, I'm 'America's Next Top Model'!"
